February 5–Nervous…Scared…Worried??

Do you ever get even a little bit nervous or scared or worried when you have to do certain things or interact with certain people? Even if you know this is what God wants you to do (or maybe especially when you know this is what God wants of you)?

I do. And, boy-oh-boy, do I just have to keep inviting God to hold my head very tightly, hold my thoughts, hold my perspective, hold my heart and calm my heart beat…so that my words and actions and interactions with others will be guided by God’s wisdom and sincere love rather than by my preconceived perspectives, ready arguments or feeble fears.

God is God. God is good. God is wise and loving. And God does not place me in the midst of a battle to kill me. For one thing, we are at some level already and always in the midst of a battle for our souls and the souls of all other people—all of whom God created and loves—no matter how challenging they may be for us!

So! In God’s loving and very stern way, I sense that God is always telling me: “Get over yourself! I Am God. I Am with you. I Am the One who fights the battle. Trust Me. Not yourself, not your fears. Trust Me! Obey Me! Get over yourself! I Am with you!”

Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged,

for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

Kind of hard to argue with that! Thank You, LORD!

In love, peace and purposeful passion,                                                               Sylane
