January 4–God’s Holy Power-tool

God’s power is intimate and unlimited in its ability to transform lives. There is nothing too difficult for God! We often make God so much smaller and limited by the way we live and think. Yet, there is nothing small or limited about our Almighty God! Our God gave His Holy, unlimited Spirit to live in, and work through, the lives of all who claim Jesus as Savior and Lord! Oh! What a power-tool of transformation God has given to us who believe!

God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…Ephesians 3:20

Personal Reflections from Sylane                                                                        Think about it. What’s the strongest tool or machine you have ever used or seen used? I know it wasn’t the world’s most powerful tool, but a couple of months ago I stopped to watch what looked like a gigantic, yellow, mechanized-metal version of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It was taking mammoth bites out of an old building that was being removed in order to build something new in its place. Just like a little kid, I stood there totally mesmerized by the power that machine had to completely transform the area it worked on.

Now God doesn’t often bite me, although He definitely has taken out a number of chunks–when the truth of His Word confronted my self-centered thinking and actions. Even when God seems to bite, He always does it out of His love for us–to free us from what really would destroy us.

God has given us His Holy Spirit to work within us, to help us know and truly believe that God is Almighty–and far bigger and more powerful than any thing we might experience. God’s peace is more powerful than our strongest fear. God’s hope is more powerful than our deepest sadness. God’s love is more powerful than the most hateful words or actions that could ever be inflicted on us. God’s Spirit is God’s intimate power-tool that He has placed within us.

Crank up the power darlin’s, and take a bite out of any thing that may be skewing your perspective of our Loving, Almighty God.

In love, peace and purposeful passion,                                                                       Sylane
