January 2–And God Said…

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Genesis 1:3

Oh, Light! On these shorter, darker winter days how fabulous is every bit of light we can get! How much better we feel when it is lighter outside—instead of gloomy and gray! How much easier it is for us to be happy, peaceful and thankful when the day is physically filled with light!

Light—into the formless, empty, darkness was the first recorded Word we have of God speaking over His creation! It is God’s Word that brings light to our bodies, our minds and our souls.

Light—through the pillar of fire led the Israelites out of slavery during the darkness of night. (Exodus 13:21)

Light—through our Savior Jesus Christ is what rescues us from our sins—from the dominion of darkness—and brings us into the Kingdom of our God for all eternity! (Colossians 1:13)

Our God not only speaks Light into being to illuminate our lives physically, mentally and spiritually—but our God, our Lord Jesus Christ, IS the True Light that gives light to every person. (John 1:9)

May each of us choose to listen when God speaks into our hearts, minds and lives with His eternally powerful and loving Word: “Let there be light,” because in Jesus Christ there is…and always will be…Light!

In love, peace and purposeful passion,                                                               Sylane
