Our lives on this earth and our eternal lives are given and guarded by God’s breath of life! God’s breath of life has no limits to its love and power!
And it is by God’s Word – God’s God-breathed Word – that we learn continually how to live in God’s good and righteous ways. It is by God’s God-breathed Word that we are prepared and fully equipped for every good work on this side of heaven!
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
For the word of God is alive and active. – Hebrews 4:12
God’s Word is living and active and is meant to impact every area of our lives and direct every activity of our every day. All Scripture is infused with the very life breath of our God who has given us life, and who works to transform our lives here and now, so that we will reflect the love, beauty, grace and truth of our Lord Jesus Christ to all those around us. This is God’s very good work. This is exactly what the Word of God prepares and equips us to do!
And we are to breathe deeply and learn continually and be prepared by God’s God-breathed Word – that has no limit to its love and power – to do God’s good work!
To live our lives as followers and disciples, as ambassadors and servants of our Lord Jesus Christ requires that we embrace the truth that we must always keep a humble attitude and remain fully teachable to our Lord. Our learning from God’s God-breathed Word is meant to be a continual process in our lives. Over the years, I have definitely found that most of my lessons from God’s Word are not only continually taking me deeper in my understanding of who God is and how I am to follow Christ, but most of my lessons are actually remedial in nature – necessarily repeated lessons! Maybe that’s the truth for you too.
There are so many times that I must take time to breathe deeply and remember who I am in Christ. Remember all that God has done for me. Remember who holds my life breath – now and for all eternity – in His good and holy, loving and beautiful hands. There are times I must remember and hold onto all the truths of God’s God-breathed Word that have set me free from every Lie From The Pit Of Hell (LFTPOH) and continually set me free from my stubborn pride.
Continual and remedial teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness come from God’s God-breathed Word with a very clear purpose: We are to be prepared, thoroughly equipped, for every good work our God calls us to do. Still, some of those lessons, especially the rebuking and correcting ones, can be pretty painful and definitely not a lot of fun as we go through them. But! They are freeing. They all come from God’s good and perfect love for us!
God’s greatest good work is that we love like He loves. So, breathe deeply, learn continually and be prepared to be the heart, hands and feet of Jesus to all those around you!
