Every Spiritual Dwarf is a liar. Each of them denies some truth of God.

Hear Shameful as he speaks his lies: “God cannot possibly forgive me for what I’ve done. It is too awful. Too evil. Too embarrassing. What I’ve done goes against everything I know is right. But I still did it. And I did it even after I had truly accepted and professed Jesus as my Savior. How could I have made such a sinful choice? I deserve to feel this pain. I knew better! I knew Jesus! I will never be free from this shame. Nor should I be. I must bear this shame forever.”

Shameful denies the Unlimited Mercy of God and the Power of the Cross. Shameful denies that Jesus’ death on the cross is the full atoning sacrifice for our sins and our shame.

Shameful twists our thinking to believe that we are, and deserve to be, miserably held captive by the shame of our sins. Shameful denies that the blood Jesus shed for us through His brutal and cruel crucifixion was enough to pay for our sins and our shame. Shameful speaks lies that come directly from Prideful: “Although I am forgiven, I still must carry the weight and sharp pain of shame for my Shameful sins.” Shameful keeps Jesus nailed to the cross, rejecting the resurrection power of Jesus as the mighty conqueror over sin and shame!

God tells us His truth: God does demand that we come to Him in sincere confession and repentance for our sins. And, then, believe and fully trust that through the Unlimited Mercy of God and the Power of the Cross, we are fully forgiven and set free from every bit of Shameful’s life-crushing weight. We can add nothing to what Jesus has already done for us. Thinking and acting in any other Shameful way spits in the face of our Holy God and His sacrificial love.

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret,

but worldly [Shameful] sorrow brings death. – 2 Corinthians 7:10

If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9

But now God has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight without blemish and free from accusation…               – Colossians 1:22

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. – 2 Corinthians 5:21

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. – Galatians 5:1

God loves us and wants the very best for each of us. Killing the Spiritual Dwarf of Shameful will set us free to live in the beautiful truth of the transforming grace that our Lord Jesus offers to us – with His heart full of love and His victoriously lifted, nail-scarred hands!
