In two days from today it will be Christmas Eve.

It’s a really good time to calm down our hearts, minds, souls and bodies and consider Jesus. It’s a really good time to take some deep, life-giving, mind-clearing breaths, and ask ourselves gently: How’s my heart? How’s my pace? How’s my perspective?

Consider Jesus. And let our hearts belong fully to our God who loves us fully – at all times, in all ways. Let our hearts reflect the heart of Jesus whose love for us holds us for all eternity. Consider Jesus and let our hearts be calmed and comforted. Consider Jesus and let our hearts be joy-filled and hopeful. Consider Jesus. Let His love and kindness, mercy and compassion fill and flow through us to others in real and tangible, generous and true ways.

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.            – 2 Thessalonians 3:5

In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect… – 1 Peter 3:15

Consider Jesus. And let our pace be kept fully and beautifully in step with the Spirit of our God. Consider Jesus and let our pace be strong and gentle, courageous and purposeful, wise and peaceful, humble and honest, loving and kind – in every thought we think, in every word we say and write, in every task we take on, and in every interaction we have.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. – Galatians 5:22-23

Consider Jesus. And let our perspective be held in eternity’s lens. Let our focus be on Jesus, on His presence with us in the midst of all of our circumstances and all of our relationships. Consider Jesus and let our perspective be lifted far beyond whatever chaos or craziness, problems or pressures we may be experiencing in our lives as a part of the reality that we live in a broken world. Consider Jesus and let nothing and no one diminish our view of God’s unfathomable, unfailing love and care for us and God’s amazing, eternal plans and life for us.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.                  – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Consider Jesus in the midst of all the demands and plans of this Christmas season, in all the other things going on in our lives, and let Him be Lord of our hearts, our pace and perspective!

Let’s count down, calm down and consider Jesus in this season and in every season of each of our lives!

In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ,                                              Sylane
