Have you ever been in the wrong place? You know, a time when you were supposed to be in one place but you ended up somewhere else? Not long ago, this happened to me twice in just one week. The first time, I can happily blame it on my car’s GPS system. It just could not direct me to the actual location I needed to be. The second time, I misinterpreted where I was to meet someone. My fault entirely. Both times, whether it was my fault or not, I needed help. I needed redirection. I needed to reset my plans.
This need for help – this need for redirection, this need to reset my plans – is a constant truth within my inner life of mind and spirit, body and soul. I need God always. I need God to come and get me. I so often (Okay, constantly!) need God to take hold of my every thought, my every perspective, my every emotion, my every plan so that my mind and spirit will be filled with His light and calmed and matured with His truth.
Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. Psalm 43:3-4
God, come and get me! Come to me so that I may come to You! Shine Your light into my confused, clouded, lost, dense and dark places! Bring me Your truth so that I may know my way to You and may know Your best way for my life. Your best way for every one of my days, for every one of my moments!
God, come and get me! Come to me so that I may let You take full hold of my head, my heart, my whole being! God, come and get me! Guide me completely by Your Holy Spirit so that I may know Your head and heart! So that I may know Your thoughts and ways – and follow You!
God, come and get me! Bring me to Your Holy mountain! Bring me to Your dwelling place so that I may breathe in the life-giving, life-restoring truth of Your constant presence with me! God, come to me so that I may be filled with Your eternal perspective and transcending peace that will guard my heart and mind always.
God, come and get me! Come to me so that I may go to You, and go with You, in the fullness of the joy and delight that You are to my life – to my mind, my spirit, my entire being! Come to me so that my thankfulness for You may be more deeply and continually expressed!
God, come and get me! Come to me so that I may go to You with the music You have poured into my soul! Come to me so that I may go with You, my God, with all that You have given to me! Come to me so that I may go with You as You lead me by Your love, wisdom, courage, hope, strength, goodness and peace!
God, come and get me! Come to me with Your help, with Your redirection and with Your resetting of my plans so that I may live more fully in Your light and truth!
God, come and get me – over and over and over again!
In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ, Sylane
