Have you and God had a question and answer session lately? Our God created us to be in communion and community – in intimate relationship with Him. To grow in this relationship with our God, we need to be in conversation with Him. So, again, I ask: Have you and God had a question and answer session lately?

Our God actually invites us into this intimate conversation with Him. Amazing.

This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it – the LORD is his name: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” – Jeremiah 33:2-3

So, ask away! Yes, and ask with a certain humility acknowledging that God is God, the holy and sovereign One over all that exists. And we are not. Ask with a certain understanding that we won’t understand everything on this side of heaven. Still, ask away! Our God invites us, and wants us, to know Him deeply and to know all that He reveals to us through His Word and His Spirit. As we’re asking our God questions, we need to be open to answering some questions that God asks us, too.

“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”       Jeremiah 32:26-27

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” – Matthew 16:15

Jesus said to [Martha], “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” – John 11:25-26

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” – Luke 12:25-26

Sometimes both the question and the answer are found within the same passage of Scripture.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.          Micah 6:8

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?…No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35, 37-39

Let’s each have ongoing question and answer sessions with our God. Expect God to answer. Expect God to ask us questions. Be blessed and challenged by all our God reveals to us and by all He doesn’t reveal to us on this side of heaven – knowing and trusting that there is absolutely nothing in all creation that could ever separate us from the intimacy of His love!

In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ,                                              Sylane
