Top o’ the morning to ye!
Yes! It’s St. Patrick’s Day! And, like so many others, I’m enjoying a wee bit o’ fun, wearing some green and claiming every ounce of Irish heritage that’s within me! What about that “luck o’ the Irish”? Oh! It’s a fun thought, but luck is all about chance. Not certainty.
We as followers of Jesus Christ will, instead, depend on the certainty of our God’s faithfulness, on His Word of grace and truth, on His unfailing love and on His transcending peace to lead and hold our lives now and for all eternity.
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings…Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. – Hebrews 10:22-23
Our God draws us near to Himself through our Lord Jesus. By faith in Christ’s death and resurrection, we are reconciled fully to our Holy God and held tenderly and tenaciously every moment of our lives. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. We do not know what each day will hold for us – or what circumstances or relationships will bring us joy and peace or sorrow and pain. No matter what our days hold, we can bring – right into God’s throne room of grace – everything we are and everything we experience to our loving God, our Eternal Abba.
It’s not about luck! Luck is fickle, fragile and faithful to no one.
It’s about faith in our faithful God! Our God is the faithful One – the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God, the sovereign, intimate and unchanging God, the Ancient of Days and the Alpha and the Omega – who loves us unfailingly!
It is through faith that we draw near to our faithful God with a sincere heart and with full assurance that we are loved and held by Him every moment of every day of our lives! It is our faithful Lord Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, who will draw us near to Himself for all time!
Draw near to God. That’s where our Abba wants each and every one of us.
May each of us hold unswervingly to the hope God has promised! Our God desires to give each of us a deeper, fuller assurance of who He is, how deeply He loves us and how faithfully He will care for us, hold us and walk with us every day of our lives.
Our Heavenly Abba will absolutely draw us to Himself with love and joy! And it’s not about luck! It’s all about our faithful God!
In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ, Sylane
