March 06

Each of us who has received Jesus as our Savior has been given so much more than we often realize – and so much more than we often choose to let empower, lead and calm our lives. We have been given the very Spirit of our Holy God to live within us, drawing us ever closer to our God and keeping our walk ever more in sync with our God’s will and ways.

God’s Spirit, given to us, is all about transforming us to think and act, to react and even to feel, more and more like our Lord Jesus Christ. This is freedom, healing and renewal!

God’s Spirit is able to transform our every weakness, our every frailty, our every insecurity by His Spirit’s gift of power poured into our spirits. We will be given a courage and a strength that are fully based on God’s truths that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26) and that we “can do all things through Him who gives [us] strength” (Philippians 4:13).

God’s Spirit is able to transform all of our thoughts and feelings of being unloved, unworthy, rejected, hurt and embittered by His Spirit’s gift of love poured into our spirits. We will be given the deep and eternal assurance that we are loved by the Lord of all eternity – by “God [who] is love” (1 John 4:8) – with His unfailing, incomprehensible, inseparable, unchangeable love.

God’s Spirit is able to transform all of our habitual and fleeting behaviors that come out from us through thoughts, words and acts of pride, anger, fear, worry, stubbornness, selfishness, lust, laziness, gluttony, judgment, arrogance (Go ahead! You can name some for yourself!) by His Spirit’s gift of self-discipline and a sound mind poured into our spirits.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7

In Christ there is nothing timid, weak, unloving, sinful, out of sorts or out of control! Our holy, loving Lord wants to widen and deepen His Spirit’s reign over and within our lives – over and within our hearts, minds, bodies and spirits.

God does this through what He has already given to those of us who have put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. We have been given the eternal gift, of incalculable worth, by the giving of God’s Holy Spirit to live within us. It is, then, up to us to acknowledge the Spirit’s gifts that have already been given to us – have already been poured into our spirits – so that we will choose to put them into practice in our thoughts, in our words, in our actions, in our reactions, in every relationship and in every circumstance we encounter.

God is with us. God’s Spirit is within us. God’s good gifts – God’s good transforming gifts – are poured into us! And our holy, loving Lord will help us to release the Spirit’s gifts into our lives, and into the lives of all those around us. We just need to release our lives more and more fully to the Spirit’s control, to the Spirit’s leading us by God’s gifts of power, love and self-discipline!

In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ,                                              Sylane
