Many of us use a GPS whenever we’re traveling – on both unfamiliar and fairly familiar roads. We’ll trust that little cyber-directional system to get us physically to where we need to go. How much more we should trust Jesus as the One who can show us the way to go in our lives  and is, in Himself, the way and the path of life!

Jesus spoke it clearly when He said,

“I am the way and the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

You have made known to me the path of life,

You will fill me with joy in your presence,

with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 16:11

We who trust in Jesus as our Savior have had our eternal destiny radically and fabulously changed. We have been rescued from “the dominion of darkness” and brought into the “kingdom of the Son God loves” (Colossians 1:13). We have been brought from death to life. From hell to heaven. From condemnation to righteousness. And because of this amazing eternal destination change, we have a peace and a joy and a sure hope that can only come from the Spirit of the Living God.

However, we don’t always have those same feelings during our daily-day lives because of all the changing circumstances that can bump us around, confuse us, shake us, anger us, sadden us, and wear us down. This life can be hard. And our circumstances can go from one extreme to the other.

How thankful I am that our God doesn’t change. God always loves us. God is always with us. God is good. God is just. God is mighty. God is kind. God is faithful. God is wise. God is love.

Our circumstances do not determine or alter who our God is, or what God’s character is like, in any way. Even when, in our own perceptions, we determine that God is good because things are good for us. Even when we determine that God is distant, unhearing, unfair, uncaring or unfaithful to His promises when things are hard for us.

As God’s children through faith in Jesus, we have trusted God with our eternal destiny. How much more do we need to trust Jesus with our daily-day lives! Really trust the One who is the way and the truth and the life. Trust the One who is the path of life for now and all eternity! We need to stay with Jesus. We need to listen to His Word. We need to keep in step with His Spirit. We need to trust Jesus who fully and humbly trusted His Father who led Him to the cross, but didn’t leave Him there! Jesus was brought from death to life and into the fullness of joy in the eternal, beautiful, and powerful presence of His God and Father! And one day we will be brought there, too, by God’s very own GPS – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

May we each travel this life with God’s peace, joy, and sure hope because we know that, no matter what we experience along our earthly paths, we will reach our eternal destination and celebrate with our Lord Jesus who has been with us all along the way as God’s only way!

In love, peace and purposeful passion,
