Have you ever thought…

  • That you’ve come to the absolute end of your ability to deal with things?
  • That you’ve come to the absolute end of your strength and hope?
  • That the circumstances seem absolutely monstrous and insurmountable?
  • That the other people involved seem absolutely monstrous and unmovable?
  • That you just don’t believe that anyone or anything else is going to change? Ever!

You’re tired of the battle. You’re tired of the hardship. You’re tired of your limitations. I get it. I understand insurmountable circumstances and monstrous people. I have compassion for you.

Our God offers far more than His perfect understanding and unfailing compassion for us when we’re dealing with monstrously insurmountable circumstances and monstrously unmovable people! However, our God does so by, first, dealing with us! God’s love, grace and truth come to us most fully and freely as we, first, let God search us. Change us. Cleanse us. Lead us in God’s – life-healing, life-renewing, life-transforming – ways. In order to overcome my limitations in dealing with anything and anyone, I must, first, invite God to search, change, cleanse and lead me! Because sometimes that insurmountable circumstance came from my own wrong thinking, speaking and acting. And sometimes that monstrously unmovable person is I.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.   Psalm 139:23-24

God offers us His strength, courage, and constant presence so that we may follow His leading – even when it’s scary, humbling, uncertain and a little crazy!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

God offers us His Spirit to empower us to conquer the most monstrous and insurmountable circumstances we may face. God offers us His Spirit to empower us to love and forgive the most monstrous and unmovable persons in our life.

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37

“I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”           Matthew 5:44

God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…– Ephesians 3:20

God is not limited by our limitations! And in Christ, with the power of His love, grace and truth, we don’t have to be either!
