January 1–Real Resolution, True Tranformation

A New Year! A time for resolutions and determined actions! Many of us are ready to put forth that superhuman effort and fight to get ourselves in shape-physically, financially, emotionally, relationally and spiritually! This is a time for transformation! But! The battlefield is neither our weight nor the weight of our wallet. The battlefield is not what or who angers us, hurts us or disappoints us. The battlefield is not even our circumstances. The battlefield for true and lasting transformation is within our very own minds and our own perceptions. And it is there that we must invite our Loving God, our Lord Jesus Christ to transform us and renew us!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world,

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Romans 12:2

Personal Reflections from Sylane:
January 1st, 2009! First day of 2009, my first official day as a blogger!
Happy New Year! Happy New Blog!
I’m not really sure what I’m in for, but I do know what I have in me! I have hope.

I have a deep, rich, real-sometimes absolutely and completely counter to my observable life’s circumstances-HOPE.

Some people call this FAITH. And it is.

In the Bible, in the book of Hebrews, chapter 11 starts off with this really cool explanation of what I have in me:                                                                                                                                  “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Everything within my mind, body and spirit agrees: YES! I am sure of what I hope for! Yes! I am certain of what I do not see!

And it is because I have experienced GOD’s LOVE powerfully intervening and interrupting my world of brokenness, fear and shame, hurt and anger to give me hope, peace and purpose.

I was once a victim of horrendous physical, emotional and sexual abuse. I am no longer. I am a woman of hope.

I have been loved into healing. Loved into forgiveness. Loved into salvation. Loved into transformation. Loved by God-Loved by my Lord Jesus Christ-whose LOVE is bigger than my broken life. Loved by God who reaches into the ugliest of circumstances, perceptions, behaviors and relationships in order to radically transform what is deadly and crippling into what is life-bringing and powerfully free!

So, YES! I am sure of what I hope for! Yes! I am certain of what I do not see!

And I pray that God will make you just as certain through the transforming grace and love He offers to each of us through His Son Jesus Christ!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY NEW HOPE!

In love, peace and purposeful passion, Sylane

  4. My Friend,

Thank you for the love that you have demostrated through the ministry of healing and restoration that God has bestowed upon you. You have been a blessing in my life and continue to be. The Lord is still digging deep into my heart from the last encounter you and I had.

My prayer is that God will use this door that He has opened in your life to bring healing and hope to the hurting and hopeless.
