February 5–Nothing Hidden

The LORD is able to see past all our pretenses and fears, past all our prejudices and criticisms, past all our limited preconceived ideas of what is most valuable and desirable. The LORD clearly sees what we think of ourselves, our circumstances and others.

Our God looks piercingly–seeing all of who we truly are–in the deepest recesses of our hearts. There is nothing hidden to the eyes of God–the God of grace and truth and love.

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

Personal Reflections from Sylane:                                                                           NOTHING HIDDEN. Nothing. The LORD sees everything within our hearts.

This might seem a bit scary. But it is actually a wonderful freedom.

We just have to accept the truth of it. God looks intensely into to us out of His Love for us. God knows that the more our hearts reflect His perceptions and His purpose–the more we will know His loving freedom.

If we keep on harboring ugly sin or hatred or anger or judgment or pride in our hearts–even if we TRY not to let it out, or let others see it–it still has a tight vice-like grip on us. No freedom there.

If we keep on allowing our value as a person to be determined by the fleeting and fickle perceptions of what others think of us–for good or for evil, from the cheering crowd or the wounding critics–we are trapped and diminished. No freedom there.

God does look into our hearts. Truth.

God does this out of love. Freedom

So, let’s choose to be uncovered, without any falsehood or facade before our God. Let’s choose to be re-directed and re-newed as God reveals what He sees in us and what He wants for us!

NOTHING HIDDEN. It’s a good thing, really. It’s a God reality!

In love, peace and purposeful passion,                                                               Sylane

  1. I find tremendous comfort in the fact that God KNOWS me, really knows me, and loves me so much. I feel thankful that way about my husband too. Sylane, You consistently put out such wonderful posts.

I don’t know if you were kidding when you asked what face cream I use… but in case you weren’t it’s ROC. A relatively inexpensive brand that Walgreens and CVS have. (If they have those stores in your area) Your eyes are so amazing. You are blessed indeed!
