April 2–What’s In A (Nick)Name?

His name wasn’t really Barnabas. It was Joseph.

It was because of how he lived out his relationship with his Lord Jesus and with his brothers and sisters in Christ that caused the apostles to nickname him Barnabas–which means Son of Encouragement. (Acts 4:36)

I wonder what each of us would be nicknamed based on the way we live out our faith in Jesus Christ and our relationships with other people.

When Barnabas arrived and saw evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. Acts 11:23

In love, peace and purposeful passion,                                                               Sylane
