This week I have been in Minnesota with staff and students at Bethel University and Seminary…and a few from Northwestern too. So many of the people I met are truly seeking and choosing to live their lives as Ambassadors of Christ whether they are preparing for jobs in the secular world or for jobs within some kind of direct Christian ministry.
The Body of Christ is beautiful and filled with hope and power when we let our God be God…when we allow His Spirit and His Word to be fully alive and fully released in our lives. We as God’s children always need to grow in knowing Jesus better and all that He has for us in beauty, in hope and in power.
My prayer for all of us who have been saved by our Lord Jesus Christ is that we will also be fully transformed by Him so that we may know Him better, and reveal His love, His hope, His power to all those around us—to all who still need to know Jesus.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,
may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,
so that you may know him better.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened
in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you,
the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
And this power is not summoned up from ourselves—it is the very power of the One True God!
That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead
and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion,
and every title that can be given,
not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
And God placed all things under his feet
and appointed him to be head over eveything for the church, which is his body,
the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
That is the unfailing, unlimited power we have been given—the very power of the living, sovereign Jesus Christ! May we know Him better…so that we will make Him known to those who are still lost!
In love, peace and purposeful passion, Sylane
