Happy February 1st, y’all!
It may seem silly, but I always like the first of a new month…the first of a new week…and, yep, the first of a new day. I like being aware of the marking of time (even if that means I’m getting older!).
Marking time by intentionally acknowledging each new day helps me to live in the present moment. It helps me to recognize that this day—this new day—is a gift from God and, quite honestly, it is all that I have right now. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow may or may not be here for me on this side of Heaven. I have been given the gift of this day. The gift of TODAY.
Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.
Psalm 95:7, 8; Hebrews 3:7-8, 15
And in this day, TODAY, I need to choose to listen for God’s voice and then choose to obey God’s voice by keeping my heart, mind, mouth, perspective, attitude and actions soft and pliable to God’s shaping, transforming, directing ways—in all I do…in all of my moments.
God has given me the gift of TODAY. And I need to give it right back to my God with deep thankfulness…and by continually choosing to let my Lord Jesus Christ lead me in every present moment I have. Because it’s all that I have!
In love, peace and purposeful passion, Sylane
