By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
Ahhhhhhh…the 7th Day. I know it’s not anybody’s official Sabbath day. It’s not Saturday. It’s not Sunday. But today is the 7th Day of this New Year! Today is the 7th Day of this New Decade!
And I thought it would be good to encourage each of us (Yes, even in the midst of our back-from-the-Holidays, gotta-get-a-lot-of-stuff-done-right-now-mode) to:
Rest. Slow down. Take a deep breath to be thankful that we are alive. Take a deep breath to look around and appreciate the heavens and the earth that our God created “in all their vast array.”
Rest. Slow down. Take a deep breath before you respond or react in a way that would be hurtful or ugly. Take a deep breath and speak a word of encouragement…of love…of peace to someone closest to you…or to a complete stranger.
Rest. Slow down. Take a deep breath…and another one…and another one. Reflect that image of God in which we were all created! And breathe…and love…and rest…and be thankful!
Ahhhhhhh…the 7th Day. Let it be holy!
In love, peace and purposeful passion, Sylane
