May 6–Still Storming?–OR–Stilled Storms?

Storms hit.

Maybe these storms are the terrible and terrifying tempests that come at us–as part of the reality of living in this frail, flawed and finite world.

Maybe they are storms that we have been caught in, as consequences of our own choices, because we refused to heed the warning signs and remove ourselves from the danger zones.

Maybe they are only storms in our perspective because someone or something is raining on our parade.

Whatever the cause of the storm or the circumstance that puts us in it or the mind-set that keeps us in it, we can be sure that God is with us. And when we truly seek our LORD’s help, we can be sure that the power of the storm is no match for the power of our God and His unfailing love.

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men. Psalm 107:28-31

Since the storms are still going to come at us–or because of us–we need to run into our Abba’s storm-stilling, compassionate and forgiving arms.

We need to fully turn to–and trust in–our Abba’s unfailing love that is present with us even when we are right in the midst of the storms. By Abba’s unfailing love the most dangerous of storms are stilled to a whisper. The most frightening, crashing waves are hushed.

Is it still storming for you in your mind and heart? OR Have you let Abba still the storms within you? Come on, cry out to Him! Your storms will be stilled!

Let us give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and for His wonderful deeds for men!

In love, peace and purposeful passion,                                                               Sylane

  1. Yea . . . because of uncontrollable circumstances along with ME, I am a single (divorced 3 times) mom (1 daughter) of an empty nest (less than a year), unemployed, have lost 3 dads and 1 mom to trajic death . . . 6 months ago I was healed and delivered from Satan’s lies that it was all my fault and that I had NOTHING on this earth to live for. I have spent 6 months praising, reading His Word and begging Him to show me WHAT and WHY I’m here.

However, I get SO RESTLESS nearly every day! The unemployment money will eventually run out and I am SO LONELY and feel I’m not DOING anything at all with my days. I know He has been the author of my life this far but feel I am stuck in my own mind and fears. I try to serve where I feel I’m needed but on the other hand, feel like I NEED a job, a human being to “do life with” but can’t seem to get past MY past failures and sins!

I’m only 45 and feel so desperate for a MAJOR breakthrough in my whole being.

  2. Dearest Patti,
Thank you for your comment. Your honest heart-cry to God is heard by our Abba. You have not been left alone. And it sounds like you know that God has already brought you so very, very far.

Patti, we just can’t stop. You do have the power to go on–because God loves you and God is unlimited in His holy power. You can continue on–because God is with you. God’s strength is with you. God’s healing power and truth is with you.

Continue to let God still your storms. Fix your eyes on Jesus–not on the storms.

The major breakthrough for your whole being that you are so desperate for, is already here. It is accepting fully Jesus Christ as your Savior and accepting Jesus Christ as the only LORD over your emotions, thoughts, words and actions. Your major breakthrough is already here, already available to you in the transforming grace and healing power of Jesus Christ.

Walk, Patti. Walk one step at a time–but keep pressing on with Jesus, knowing–and acting like you know–that your Lord Jesus is carrying you–and you are His beloved!

Deuteronomy 33:12–“Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields His beloved all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between His shoulders.”

Patti, we at the ministry of TBG will be praying for you! You, as a believer in Jesus Christ, are part of His Body. And so we are joined to you in our Lord Jesus and we will lift you in love and prayer to our Abba.

We trust in God’s Love and in His Word. From Philippians 4:19–“And my [our] God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

In love, peace and purposeful passion,
