God is One. And God wants one thing from us more than anything else: to love HIM. When we love God, we are really responding to the love that God has first poured out to us.
Our active choice to love God needs to be a daily, intentional acknowledgement that God is our Creator. That we live only by God’s loving decision. That God is worthy and deserving of our love and devotion. That trusting and obeying God’s Word are demonstrations of our love for Him.
Loving God in these ways is truly worshipping God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
When we love God–in spirit and in truth–our life is put into perspective, held in hope and protected by peace. The act of loving God, to which we all are called, actually brings God’s deepest, eternal blessings to us–to our hearts, our souls, our strength.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
