What does real love look like? God is passionate and purposeful in making that very clear to us. Our God gives us a very comprehensive overview of His view of love.
Love is patient, Love is kind. Love does not envy, Love does not boast, Love is not proud. Love does not dishonor others [Love is not rude], Love is not self-seeking, Love is not easily angered, Love keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, Love always trusts, Love always hopes, Love always perseveres. Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

We need to let God change us. Deeply and daily. We need to actively and intentionally make choices in our words and actions that are truly lined up with, and empowered by, God’s transforming love.
In these few short verses, God has given us the characteristics of His love, the actions of His love and the promises of His love. And God promises to empower each of us, His children, with the full measure of His unfailing love.
