Then the LORD God…breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. – Genesis 2:7
Breathe. Take a moment to breathe. Really. Right now. Breathe in God’s life-giving, life-sustaining and life-transforming breath. Breathe. Deeply. Slowly. Quietly. Intentionally. Let God’s breath of life clear your head. Let God’s breath of life lift your heart and free your soul from the worries in your life. Even for just a moment. Breathe.
God’s breath of life breathed into us and we were created. It only makes sense that in order for us to live with any real sense of balance, hope and peace – because too often our focus is on the busyness and bother, the brokenness and bad experiences in our lives and in our world – we would need to take some real and deliberate time to breathe. Really breathe. And be renewed and refreshed. God’s breath of life has no limits to its love and power!
God’s breath of life breathed into the beaten, scarred, pierced, crucified, dead body of Jesus and brought Him to life again as the glorious Conqueror King who shattered the power of sin and death for all eternity! Breathe in God’s gift of forgiveness and His sure promise to resurrect your life. God’s breath of life has no limits to its love and power!
Our lives on this earth and our eternal lives are given and guarded by God’s breath of life! That is something to celebrate!
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD. – Psalm 150:6
Every breath we have been given is a gift! And we’re meant to live out our every breath with thanksgiving to God. Our lives and breath are not meant to be controlled by the busyness of our days, nor by the bothersome circumstances we face. Our lives and breath are not meant to be crushed by the brokenness and bad experiences of this world. No! We have been made in the image of God – made by the Eternal One who gave us His breath of life so that we would have life! It is our Lord Jesus Christ who gave up His own life breath so that we would live eternally with Him! God’s breath of life has no limits to its love and power! Praise the Lord!
How are you using those breaths you’ve been given by the life breath of God? Are you taking time to let God take your breath away by His love for you? Are you taking time to let God’s beauty and majesty revealed through nature – in the mountains and oceans, in the hills and lakes, in the forests and deserts, in the flowers and fruit, in the stars, the sun and the moon, in the flight of the birds, in the jump of a whale, in the roar of a lion, in the wiggles of a puppy, in the purr of a kitten – refresh you and reconnect you with the life breath you’ve been given?
Are you taking time to refresh others? Do those around you breathe a little easier, a little more deeply because of the way you listen to them, help them, encourage them and love them? Do they breathe a word of praise to God because of you?
God’s breath of life has no limits to its love and power! So, take the time to breathe deeply, praise often and refresh others!
In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ, Sylane
