GOD’S KIND OF KINDNESS – GOD’S FOLLOW-UP PLAN

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you…love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful just as your Father is merciful.” – Luke 6:27-28, 35-36

As we hear about and accept for ourselves God’s kind of kindness offered to us through the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ, God’s kind of kindness will have a follow-up plan for each one of us – to be carried out in and through each one of our lives.

God’s follow-up plan is for a radical transformation, so real and so deep, to take place in each of our lives – in each of our minds, attitudes and actions – that we, as children of the Most High, will reflect God’s kind of kindness to others.

God’s follow-up plan intends and purposes that God’s kind of kindness will, with increasing power and evidence, change absolutely everything within us – everything within the way we think, speak, act and react in every one of our circumstances and in every one of our relationships. Including with our God and with ourselves.

Through God’s kind of kindness we, as children of the Most High, are supernaturally empowered by God’s Spirit and commanded by God’s mercy to do outrageous things! Things that don’t make any kind of sense on this side of heaven. Things exactly like Jesus has done for us. Through God’s kind of kindness we are empowered and commanded –

To love our enemies.

To do good to those who hate us.

To bless those who curse us.

To pray for those who mistreat us.

To give generously to others without any expectation of return.

We are supernaturally empowered by God’s Spirit and commanded by God’s mercy to give, and live out, God’s radical, real and deep kind of kindness with even the most ungrateful and wicked people in our lives.

God’s kind of kindness is outrageous and extravagant, generous and compassionate, active and intentional! This is the same kind of kindness that our Holy God has given to each of us!

God’s kind of kindness is no small thing! It spreads its arms on a cross, goes to hell in our place and reaches to heaven on our behalf!

God’s follow-up plan for us, as children of the Most High, is to give to others that same kind of kindness! Giving it in all of its outrageous and extravagant, generous and compassionate, active and intentional ways! Just as we have been supernaturally empowered by God’s Spirit and commanded by God’s mercy to do!

In the love and peace, grace and truth of Jesus Christ,                                              Sylane
