GOD’S HOLY POWER-TOOL

God’s power is intimate and unlimited in its ability to transform lives. There is nothing too difficult for God! We often make God so much smaller and limited by the way we live and think. Yet, there is nothing small or limited about our Almighty God!

Our God gave His Holy – intimate and unlimited – Spirit to live within us and work through each of us who claims Jesus as Savior and Lord. Oh! What a power-tool of transformation God has given to us who believe!

God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us… – Ephesians 3:20

Think about it. What’s the strongest tool or machine you have ever used or seen used?

I know it wasn’t the world’s most powerful tool, but not long ago I stopped to watch what looked like a gigantic, yellow, mechanized-metal version of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It was taking mammoth bites out of an old building that was being removed in order to build something new in its place. Just like a little kid, I stood there totally mesmerized by the power of that machine to completely transform the area it worked on.

Now God doesn’t often bite me, although He definitely has taken out a good number of chunks. This happens each time that the truth of God’s Word confronts my self-centered thinking and actions. Even when God seems to bite, He always does it out of His love for us. God’s purpose is to set us free and transform us from everything that truly would damage or destroy us.

God has given us His Holy Spirit to work within us and through us so that we may know and truly believe that our God is the Almighty God, who is far greater and more powerful than anything we could ever experience or imagine.

God’s joy is more powerful than our deepest sadness.

God’s peace is more powerful than our most crushing fear.

God’s patience is more powerful than our fiercest frustration.

God’s kindness is more powerful than our cruelest reality.

God’s gentleness is more powerful than our rawest emotion.

God’s hope is more powerful than our darkest discouragement.

God’s strength is more powerful than our greatest weakness.

God’s mercy is more powerful than our most evil sin.

God’s love is more powerful than death!

God’s Spirit is the intimate, unlimited power-tool that our God has placed within each of us – to accomplish His loving purpose to transform us.

So! Let’s crank up the power, Darlin’s, and let God’s Spirit take a bite out of any and every thing in us that may be skewing our perspective of who our Almighty God is or hindering and limiting His transforming power within our lives!
