AGREEING WITH GOD

There is nothing that God says or promises that God is not able to accomplish.

The transforming of our lives happens when we believe that God is faithful to His Word and that God and His Word are good, true, powerful and purposeful. Transformation happens as we humbly and willingly, actively and intentionally, trust in our Eternal God – in His love and goodness – more than in our own limited perspective about our circumstances.

Agreeing with God – taking God at His Word – absolutely requires a leap of faith from each and every one of us. Yet, even in this leap of faith, we are never alone. Our God is with us always. Our God loves us beyond our comprehension and wants us to know Him and trust Him. Our God wants us to agree with Him, with His words and His ways as to what He declares and reveals is the very best for our lives. Our God is present to help carry us through that leap of faith. We just have to be willing to make it.

As we choose to agree with our God, taking Him at His Word, we open ourselves up to the power of God’s love that brings salvation, healing, freedom, renewal and restoration into our lives, into our minds and hearts and into our relationships.

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:10-11

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12-13

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose…to be conformed to the likeness of his Son… – Romans 8:28-29

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all…are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory…     2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Our God purposes for each of us, as His followers and deeply loved children, to be continually conformed and transformed into the likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ. May we each invite God to help us to trust Him, help us to take Him at His Word – help us to agree with Him. May we each choose to let God’s love and His Word of grace and truth have more and more influence over our every thought, perspective, word, action and interaction.

Beautiful, powerful and purposeful transformation happens when we agree with God.
