THE GOOD NEWS OF GOD’S GRACE

I consider my life worth nothing to me;

my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts 20:24

I am so deeply aware that my life is of great worth and value. This is true of each of our lives.

Our lives are of such great worth and value that Jesus, our Holy God in human form, chose to die in our place. Jesus, in outrageous love for us and with extravagant humility, received God’s holy and harsh judgment against all sin. Jesus, in outrageous love for us and with extravagant humility, took on the agonizing and brutal punishment for the forgiveness of our sins through His death on the cross and the horror of being spiritually separated from His Father so that sin and death would no longer have any power to separate us eternally from our God! And Jesus is the Risen King over all eternity – just as He had proclaimed, and the messengers sent from God declared to the women at His empty tomb.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!

Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:

‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners,

be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ “

And the women remembered his words.

Luke 24:5-8

This is the good news of God’s grace!

This is what makes me absolutely convinced of the great worth and value that each of our lives has to our Holy God! This is why – apart from Jesus, apart from this great love of God and apart from the purpose of testifying to the good news of God’s grace – I consider my life worth nothing to me, but everything to my God!

…for us there is but one God, the Father,

from whom all things came and for whom we live;

and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ,

through whom all things came and through whom we live.

1 Corinthians 8:6

I am alive because of Jesus. I planned suicide. He gave me life. In His love and by the power of God’s forgiveness, I am set free from the shame of my own sins and now live as more than a conqueror over the cruelty that came at me from others. Apart from Jesus, apart from this great love of God and apart from the purpose of testifying to the good news of God’s grace – I consider my life worth nothing to me, but everything to my God! And God is everything to me.

May each of you know and believe in Jesus as your Savior who died, who is risen and who will come again as the eternal King of kings and Lord of lords to welcome all of His children Home!

This is the good news of God’s grace!

In love, peace and purposeful passion,

Sylane
