THE UNFOLDING OF GOD’S WORDS!

Was there ever a time when some portion of Scripture just seemed to come alive for you? Or, maybe I should say, that you came more alive by it? As you read or as you listened, your world and your thinking got a little bit brighter with the revelation, the opening up – the unfolding of God’s words – to you. God’s Word is meant to do exactly that!

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Psalm 119:130

Light is essential for life. Even the very first recorded words of God that we have, when He spoke all of creation into being, were, “Let there be light!!” – Genesis 1:3

The words of God are powerful beyond our simple comprehension – bringing light to our lives in this dark world and bringing us into fellowship with our God in whose light we see light. (Psalm 36) Our God sent His Son Jesus Christ, the Eternal Word of God made flesh, as the True Light of the world. (John 1) And it is through Jesus that we are rescued from the dominion of darkness and brought into God’s eternal kingdom of light. (Colossians 1) God’s Word, God’s True Light, breaks through our darkness to expose not only our need for forgiveness because of our sins, but also to expose the unfailing, uncompromising, life-giving love that our Eternal Abba has for each one of us! This unfolding of the words of God is an understanding that each one of us simple ones desperately needs. This is an understanding that has the power to radically transform our lives, right now and for all eternity, as our minds and hearts are enlightened by the unfolding of the words of God.

…my God turns my darkness into light.

Psalm 18:28

The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

Psalm 19:8-9

The LORD is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear?

Psalm 27:1

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105

…Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.

Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of the darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6

May the words of God be fully unfolded and shine brightly in and through each of us simple ones so that we may share the light of Christ with deep understanding to all those around us!
